About Pastor Jim
Jim Perdue is a name familiar to many at Second Baptist Church. He grew up at Second Baptist, coming to know Jesus Christ as his Savior at the age of eleven. As a college student, he interned with the Second Baptist youth ministry, teaching Sunday School, as well as assisting with summer camps and retreats. While serving as student ministry intern, God established the ABS and pre-teen ministries under Jim’s leadership. These ministries still continue to thrive at SBC today. He was ordained to the gospel ministry at Second Baptist Church in 1999. Pastor Jim holds a Bachelor of Science in Education from the University of Georgia, a Master of Divinity from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, and a Doctorate of Ministry from Liberty University.
Jim’s wife Stephanie holds an Undergraduate Degree and a Master’s Degree in Business Education. Stephanie accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at the age of 21. After salvation, she served as a youth worker, ABS leader and youth counselor at Second Baptist Church. She was employed as a Business Education teacher in Raleigh, North Carolina and in Cumming, Georgia for four years but now finds fulfillment and joy as a wife and mother of their five children: Jake, Judd, Anna Kate, Sadie Grace, and Caroline.
