Mark your calendars now for Discovery Camp 2024! We are excited to dive into what it means to have a relationship with Christ. This camp will be for completed kindergarteners through 5th graders and will run from 9:00 AM—12:30 PM. Camper registration will open on May 5.

Our nursery offers childcare for bed babies, crawlers, walkers, and 2-year-olds. Your child will be watched by one of our volunteers who are trained and have completed a background check.

Our Preschool Life Groups and Church has been uniquely designed for this age group! Each week is a creative time where we teach young kids more about Jesus. If your child stays for Life Groups and Worship, you will pick them up where you dropped them off for Life Groups.

Each one of our Life Groups has been uniquely designed for our various age groups of kids! Each week is a fun and creative time where we teach and help young kids learn more about Jesus. Through songs and creative games, Jesus comes alive to the children, and they can learn to hide His word in their hearts.

During Kids Church, we have a time of song and worship and have an opportunity to learn from the Word of God through a message. Your child will go directly to the kids’ service from their Life Group rooms and return to their rooms, where parents should pick them up after the morning worship service.

Our preteens are encouraged to attend a Preteen Life Group and then worship with their parents. Life Groups are located in the Preteen Hallway of the Family Life Center (Gym). If you or your child need help finding their life group, visit our Welcome Center in the main worship building.

 On Wednesday Nights throughout the school year, our Second Kids take part in Awana.  Awana is a program that gives your child a strong foundation of faith through music, games, verse memorization, and discipling to walk with Christ for life! Join us on Wednesday Nights beginning at 6:00 PM!

This scripture is the foundational verse for the Shine Ministry at Second Baptist Church.  We believe God has created everyone fearfully and wonderfully, and our desire is to make families with special needs children feel welcome here .  We want to do this by providing a safe environment, sharing the gospel with every child, regardless of their abilities, and giving them the best place where they are going to learn about Jesus. This ministry serves age groups from K5 to 4th grade. We offer the Sunday morning Buddy Program for children during the Life Group and Kids Church.  Our volunteers are an integral part of our Shine Ministry and primarily consist of church members who have a passion for serving the special needs community.  If you are interested in serving in the SHINE Ministry, please contact, debbiev@sbcwr.org.
